Tomer and Yehuda join them along the way. Sarah, Rachel, Kevin, Omar, and Fauzi go looking for another gate. Soldiers gun down King David, dispersing the crowd to find other ways out of Jerusalem. Sarah and Kevin reunite with the others, but find the city gates closed to prevent anyone from leaving. A giant creature is seen terrorizing streets in the distance. Sarah also encounters a winged creature before finally freeing Kevin. Sarah stumbles across the homeless beggar named “King David” and realizes he is the son of the woman executed during the failed 1972 exorcism. The two soldiers abandon Sarah when loose inmates become too much to handle.
While Rachel moves ahead with Omar and Fauzi, Sarah finds Tomer and Yehuda and convinces them to help look for Kevin in the nearby asylum. News reports of a terrorist attack instill panic as everyone begins fleeing for safety. Omar and Fauzi come and take him away.įighter planes pass overhead as explosions start rocking the city. Kevin frantically bursts into the girls’ room and insists that they leave. Sarah tells Rachel that something feels strange and they should move on to Tel Aviv, but Jerusalem is shut down for Yom Kippur. Kevin grows nauseous while in King Solomon’s Quarries with the others. Sarah leaves a written wish at the Wailing Wail that reads, “bring me back my brother.” Sarah, Rachel, Kevin, and Omar go sightseeing throughout the city. Kevin tells Sarah his theory that people are returning from the dead and religious leaders are keeping the impending biblical apocalypse a secret. Kevin later shows Sarah a video from 1972 that reportedly shows two priests participating in an exorcism on a woman transformed into a creature with wings. Kevin catches up to Sarah to apologize and the couple has sex. Kevin inadvertently insults Sarah’s dead brother Joel, prompting Sarah to return to the hostel alone in anger. Sarah, Rachel, Kevin, and Omar go out partying and meet two soldiers named Tomer and Yehuda. A street kid steals Sarah’s backpack containing her prescription eyeglasses, forcing Sarah to continue wearing her Google Glass. Kevin introduces Sarah and Rachel to his friend Omar, who runs the hostel in Jerusalem with his father Fauzi.
Upon landing in Israel, Kevin convinces the girls to change their plans and join him in Jerusalem. On the plane, Sarah and Rachel meet anthropology student Kevin Reed. Howard says goodbye to his daughter as she leaves on a trip to Tel Aviv with her best friend Rachel Klein. Sarah Pullman receives a Google Glass headset from her father Howard as gift on her 24th birthday.
